To dig or not to dig.

I will have a crack at it this afternoon and report back.

I don't wear steel caps, it's not my pick, I hope its not a grenade, it could be some dead guys fillings and I am still keen :)

Keep the guesses coming.

It turned out to be a Coke can about 9.5" down lol

Well I'm pretty happy it detected a can at such a depth, and I'm now certain it could go much deeper given the strength of the signal at 9.5".

Ah well, it's something to learn from :)

Was it a aluminium one Squiggles or the old metal tin type?

Aluminium: Southern cross gets it.

Old tin type: the dog.... Woof woof Butch. ;)

Pics or it didnt happen! :P

Well done squiggles, you're on your way. Let us know how you go in "Today I found...". Even crap is of interest. (personaly speaking anyhow)

See how high off the can you can get a read. Stand on a chair or something. This will give you an idea of its depth capabilities (for can-sized or bigger things).

Start testing some rings, coins and things as well. :)

Just a regular modern day coke can. I ended up ripping off a piece and only unearthing about 30% of the full can all up.

I threw the piece back in the hole and filled it back in lol.

Sorry no pics but I should have taken some.

I have started air testing and will post some results in a new thread tomorrow sometime :)

You should always take a piece of junk out of a hole, then check again for smaller signals. A good habit to get into. :)

I was gunna say always take your junk home with you, but its not applicable here.
