The purest .99999 silver coin comes from Bolivia?

Hi,

There is a coin on eBay bearing .99999 on it and that got me perplexed. Fake or real?

Here it is, a 10 Dirham coin - not sure to whose order it is minted, but from what I understand a Panamanian-Bolivian mint makes them:

The mint is called "Royal Silver Company", headquartered here, in Cochabamba, Bolivia:

Bolivia has a bunch of silver, nonetheless...

Their gold coins are also .99999:

Is this really that big news or is it just a small mint in Bolivia? :P

Are these coins any good? They sell a lot above spot and I never got to see any from closer.

Big news in this forum for 4 years i think.. try doing a search.. should be loads of threads.. will take you ages to read them all.. get your reading glasses.. :)

It even looks like the image you grabbed was from a silver stackers thread??? lol http://forums.silverstackers.com/uploads/1115_dsc00353.jpg

I think calling it a coin is a stretch.. its a mock up of a hypothetical coin that was not issued by a govt (although i could be wrong)

No, I took it from eBay.

Silverstackers is huge and 4 years ago I wasn't even on the forum, so there was no way I could have known.

Should I know every coin in the World?

RSC has a bad rap on this forum - a number of members bought "silver certificates" and had a good deal of trouble getting funds returned, and other members did not receive coins that were paid for.

Okay , will send Capt Sparrow to the Treasure Island ;) and tell you the messages :P
save you couple of years News!!

Best coins I own, hands down, paid ~$50 each but they're worth it only got one of each

Without going through the old threads has anyone actually proved that they're .99999 as claimed? They don't read perfectly in the middle on the precious metals verifier on the 99.99% setting, but do read in the middle on 99.9% setting. Could be other factors of course, just curious.

^ Wouldn't that be a pisser. I remember this being brought up. Would be nice to know......or maybe not.......ignorance is bliss :)

bordsilver has had some XRF'd at goldstackers a year or so back, 99.99% pure which was the limit of their machine.

Exact quote from Mark "Tested the coin both sides and didn't waver from 99.99%"
