The Perth Mint 2017 2oz antiqued Koala is totally baked

Silvercrat did you really buy it? eeeeks. That thing is horrible. They need to do a recall and melt those and start over. The CEO is out to lunch. Anyone from the Perth reading this. Please have your CEO resign, he is a horrible leader!! Did he come from McDonalds's or something like it? I mean, even my 5 year old knows this is a very poor design.

"Chill out" people! ;) (pun intended)

It ain't such a bad coin....after all, it's antiqued and I haven't seen any antiqued silver coins develop milk spots yet.

That's because the artificial colouring gunk hides them ;) Maybe this is how they'll solve the problem?

Actually... I have one of the Perth Mint Gods of Olympus coins that looks to have some milikiness, but it could be a remnant of the antiquing process.

The antiquing process. Note the chemical baths and abrasion:

I believe some (perhaps not all) of the antique finishes that are see on various silver coins may actually alter the surface through chemical and physical abrasion so much, that the milk spot agents are not hidden, but actually removed....if not entirely, mostly.

Just a guess on my part.

The chinese antiquing process on the other hand. Well, nothing else compares.

Any chance you caught a glimpse of the silver krugerrands in the wild?

Sorry for late reply and putting in images here in the 2oz Koala thread.
Yes I caught them here as pics (the 1oz. annisversary coins). The real ones have been sold out after 2-3 hrs.
All requests for delivery are checked now by SA mint.
