The original Mythical Creatures series

The newest coin in the original Mythical Creatures series has apparently just arrived. I like this series designs much better than the one made by CIT....and you will be able to find it at a much more reasonable price in my opinion.

Now, for those who don't want to own coins with the Queen's effigy on it, I suppose this series of coins are not for you.

Brilliant, perfectly balanced design.
I bet the designer was mighty pleased with how it turned out.

Depends on the price (and my Euro situation). Will maybe buy few. I think it's nicer than first one.

Although the tails seems as big as it's from whale. :)

Too bad its pad stamped, not a big fan of that colorizing on coins.
I find this to be a very common sentiment in the US. Colored coins are just not big winners here like they are overseas. People here would prefer to see more detail in the actual strike rather than a paint job.

Agreed. Euros in particular also seem to enjoy gilded silver coins a whole lot more then Americans do.

Yeah I'm not fan of colored coins much either. :) Gilded are nicer for me.

Exactly! I like a little colour sometimes but I'm a sucker for details, I just received a 2013 Somali elephant today and the detail is amazing

Adore the design on this. The colours are fantastic!
I'd love to see a photo of how it looks irl.

Agreed as well. Also, paper Euro's seem silly with the various sizes. I need to carry 5 different sized wallets overseas, and use tweezers for the small bills.

I think it comes down to who you know. The majority of US citz I know who collect actually do go for coloured coins, but that's probably because I do and we've gravitated towards each other :)

Personally, I think this is the best coin of the series, very vibrant and striking!

I still say it's silly, and when counting 100 and 50 Euro bills, the smaller 5's and 10's fall out from your hands. stupid, IMO.

I agree on both counts. When compared to the other 2, this one is the best design so far.

Absolutely there is a market for colored coins in the US, I would never say there isn't as I've sold coins to US customers. I'm merely saying that the market segment is almost microscopic when compared to those that would prefer non colored with varied finishes.

For me, it depends on the coin design. This series of coins look good in color in my opinion. The way the design is laid out works well for my taste. Other coins' designs don't lend themselves well to color.

I'm sure I will pick up one of these soon as I already have the first 2 of the series.

The actual coins in this series look way better than these graphic representations in my view. You wouldn't know it unless you see a good video of the actual coin or much better, the actual encapsulated coin itself in your hands.
