The Kilo Concept ...

I notice silver on ebay can be found at completive rates .
But the Kilo .. well it must be magical
cause private parties sell it at greedy prices .
They take these careful pictures so the Kilo looks like a 10 pound bar

With some research you find the main companies that sell silver , sell a Kilo at an expected amount above spot .
Closer to the truth

Pamp Fortuna's always go for a higher premium.

Anyway, you have to keep in mind that eBay charges the seller like 10% -- plus another 3% for PayPal.

Now break out a calculator. Are the prices so outrageous, considering?

But yeah, why somebody would pay those prices, when they can easily be had cheaper outside eBay from a multitude of dealers & sellers, is beyond me.

You can't earn eBay Bucks on any of those particular listings.. Unless one wanted to use *earned* eBay Bucks on 'em?

Some mints now take pay pal so if you earn some e Bay Bucks spend them outside of the loop.
A few years ago I sold copper wire and repurchased E bay silver . Now I would go for completive vender's
with pay pal .

Not just the kilo...every 10oz bar sold on Ebay I can get cheaper at my local coin/bullion dealer. The 1oz bars I get cheaper through Ebay through the various auctions. Go figure. I expected to get my 10oz bars cheaper on Ebay but even the auctions go for more than the $2 /oz over spot I pay locally.

Sadly our local online auction $800 + per KG is about standard.
As far as i know (can see) not too many selling of late, but have seen plenty go at these prices.
Seems like i check the expired listings one month and a single kg bar sold, then next month people have been buying like mad.
I think you lot over in Aust are missing a good market over here in NZ.
Your junk can be bought in shops at bulk and would return a wonderful profit if sold in lots here.
We are not as bad/expensive as the UK, but not as cheap as you guys either.

Depending on where you live and how much you buy, it actually can be cheaper to shop for bullion on eBay. Getting bullion from a LCS will cost fuel and wear and tear on a vehicle, not to mention travel time to and from the LCS, lost and gone forever. Time is money, after all. Also, in certain regions, local taxes may need to be paid when purchasing from a LCS. Further, probably very few if any LCS give you money just to buy from them....eBay Rewards is giving you money for buying from eBay.

The smart stacker doesn't rule out any source and takes into consideration all factors including costs for travel, time wasted, and fuel costs.

When that 5x Ebay bucks offer comes in, it's like Christmas...thats when you can get those foreign silver and gold coins actually below spot ( Too bad it is limited to 500 Ebay bucks a quarter , but 2,000 Ebay bucks a year ain't bad )

A good silver example is Apmex lists the 2014 BU Philharmonic under bullion, so NO Ebay bucks
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2014-1-oz-S...478?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20e4f8ab36

But, they list the 2015 BU Philharmonic under Coins World Europe Austria...so they qualify for Ebay bucks AND a quantity discount
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2015-Austri...647?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19f957a74f

When you get the 5x Ebay bucks offer, and pick that 2015 auction....it's win/win for really cheap gov silver.

Hi everyone!
I ve just joined and wanted to say hi from Syndey Australia. Im in the process of investing in Silver. By doing calculations 1kg casted bars will offer more silver for fiat currency. I did look at 100 oz or 5kg bars but not much cheaper and looks hard to carry even for a burglar just in case :) if they break into my safe. My process of buying will be from dealers in Sydney CBD over the counter. I will shape my way of investing based on my experience in the future and as a rule of thumb all forum members comments will be my most valuable information.

Thank you in advance

Don't forget to include Ebates & cash-back credit card into the equation..
