The Great "Silver Stackers Show Bag" Caper..

I think Mike Maloneys Guide to Investing in Gold and Silver would be a good addition. $11.39 + shipping from Amazon.

A great book for any beginner!

I started a friend off with a 10oz starter pack consisting of:

9 X 50 cent 1966 silver- 3oz
2 X 1/2 oz Tigers-1oz
1x 2oz Kooka- 2oz
2x 1oz Kooka (2010 and 2011)- 2oz
1x 1oz Rabbit
1x 1oz Tiger
___________
10oz Mixed Show Bag.

If I had a one once bar I would put that in just for variety.

$500 is a bit low - say $1000 to make it serious.

Sovereign - $350
10oz silver bar - $360
1oz ASE - $43
1oz Kookaburra - $45
9 x 1966 50c - $117
1 of each pre-46 92.5% predecimal (Threepence to Crown) - $60
1 of each post-46 50% predecimal (Threepence to Florin) - $15

Plus postage $10 = $1000 total. Single withdrawal from an ATM.

Nice chunk of low premium gold with a free history lesson, a common silver bar, an example of a local & foreign government 1oz coin, a pile of 1966 50c to play with, and some educational predecimal to understand debasement.

Great Idea .... I've just come into some VINTAGE Perth Mint 10 oz bars.

So I am going to offer 2 complete sets as outlined above to bona fide new members, for the price of $1000.00 (plus postage).

First in First Served....

Ck.

Vintage Perth Mint 10oz bar? To newbies? (cries a little inside)

You know you could save one of those for an Alchemy Challenge swap :P

Yes, a most desireable and fitting inclusion. Please allow me to supply a few matches too.

Thanks for that 'warm' offer Bunker, very kind of you to offer your assistance, especially when you obviously have your own little candle to keep burning! ;)

Thanks everyone for your excellent input so far into the Great Silver Stackers Show Bag Caper...

So many excellent ideas!

Keep them coming, then we will take a look and see what consensus emerges.

Many of you have 'encouraged' others to start stacking. What did you recommend?

Alternatively - what was YOUR FIRST real purchase - (up to say $1000). What did you get first - and why?

What would YOU have LIKED to have bought as a STARTER STACK?

On offer are 3 Starter packs, (got this idea after seeing captain kooks snaffled up, and much as we might want to we can't all afford to start out with a sovereign and a ten oz bar in the booty.) Delivered express platinum post for $275.

1 x 10 gram vial of silver granules .999 get a feel for the real deal :D
1 x 1 Andean Cat .99999 mint pure as they come
1 x 1937 Crown circulated 92.5%
1 x 1927 Parliment house florin 92.%
1 x 1oz Buffalo .999
1 x 1oz American Silver Eagle .999 random date
1 x USA Half dollar random date pre 1960 90% silver
1 x Australian Threepence, Sixpence, Shilling, Florin. Random dates 1910 - 1945, 92.5%. (Chasing a particular date, will accomodate where i can)

Just highlighting this starter pack suggestion offered by BeyondFiat in the "Australia & New Zealand" sales threads.

And Captain Kangaroo has already sold two started based on Gold Pelican's recommendation.

In a recent thread we have been talking about what you would put in a "starter pack" for new stackers.

Here is an offer to help get new members going.

Agreed. It was a fantastic idea.

I'll certainly be putting some more together. Thinking about including a book (yes that one) in the packs.
