The gold coin picture thread.

This one, just in, some Swedish gold for your viewing pleasure.

Face value 1000:- SEK, 5.8 gram, 900 au 50 ag 50 cu/1000, diameter 21mm.

Nice little coin and I'll be buying more of these for sure.

Nice coins everyone. The only reason I haven't gotten one of the Mexican gold coins is that they do not have a 1oz variety. The gold Britannia looks great. I tried to buy a 2010 from Apmex, but they wouldn't look to see if they had any. The AGE look much more impressive in capsules and arranged nicely. Love those $200 Aussie coins and I haven't noticed them here is the US. :(

I can understand why. It's probably aUNC in condition but has that little ding in the neckline of lady Liberty. Still pretty good for a 1883 coin and my oldest gold coin now.

I wouldnt hunt these especially but it has whetted my appetite for a $5 d half eagle of any year, and some variations like the Indian head version, and the St Gaudens style etc.

The 1900 coin has red spot on her mouth, through the hair and a streak on the right near the stars and fainter ones elsewhere and on the reverse. Just a symptom of 0.900 gold. I dont mind them to be honest though some are quite bothered by the presence of such character marks.
 
Fantastic purchase Bobby, I've had my eye on that coin for most of the year. I'm still debating whether I should be going down the numismatic slippery slope and that coin would make me fall right into the trap. :)

I would call it a "semi-numismatic" coin, Not a collector of numismatic coins, but decided to buy this one because its the first israeli bullion, and i was a bit curious when i first saw it
 
Picked up some 2010 1/4oz AGEs today... would post a pic but only got the iPhone. Seeing lots of nice pre-33 $2.50, $5, $10 and $20 coins, but they all sell at silly premiums here as semi-numismatics, or "non-confiscatable" coins. Funnily enough seeing lots of 20 gram Perth Mint bars in certicards at different dealers - seems a common bar here.

Most of my gold kangaroo are not in the bullion, but in the "non-confiscatable" version, (most often called proof here).
 
Here's my Christmas gift to myself:-)

Same size and purity as the other one in this thread.

The going rate for these is about 1.5 x face so they have a great
stop loss built into them.
