Government can increase employer contribution percentage, which will pick up some of the slack.. and like RM said above, there is always new people entering the workforce (or leaving in bad economy :( )

which brings us to where greece is

For the record, married men statistically live on average 5-8 years longer than unmarried men.

:)

Are you suggesting that nagging is beneficial to mens health? :)

I'm suggesting men in general are lax in managing their personal health and that a wife fills that gap.

That's all good and well.... but how many people enter the work force each year/month? And start paying into investment funds?

not as many that are leaving apparently

Yeh that was my first thought to. They need to attempt to quantify that also, as it is really only the difference between the two that would cause concern.

Just raise the retirement age, looks like it will go up to 66 anyway, not so bad for the guys, an extra year but a bit of a kick in the teeth for the ladies.

retire at 75 anyone?

You lost me. Why is it so much worse for ladies? They already get to retire earlier than men in some circumstances and live longer to boot...

Because on average they get paid less than men (or take on jobs that don't pay as highly as those in male-dominated industries), and they also on average have more disruptions to their working careers - ie. having children and raising them (at least for the first few years). So yeah they live longer but they have less funds and have to make do with less...not a good position to be in.

Probably means single men having sex is strenuous on the heart. Married men don't have to worry about all that LMAO

And... they are thinking of making the retirement ages the same, what with equality and all that. So men will only have to keep working for a couple of extra years but women will be forced to work many more years to bring them up to the 67 retirement age.

Voluntary retirement is harder for them for the reasons Au.Ag.Mzch mentioned
