The (COTY) THE 2007 Mongolia Wolverine & The 2011 Mongolia Owl

Hello everyone, Just joined today and hope to learn from everyone here.

my question really is.

how often do they release them and where is the best place to pre-order (or even get notification of pre-order) for future Mongolia silver series?

Thanks!!

First release (Wolverine) 2007. Second release (Owl) was late Spring 2011. And the third release (Hedgehog) is April 2012. Based on the release pattern, I would guess the next one will be November 2012:lol: Actually they'll probably make it a yearly release. They obviously know they're on to a good thing.

As for notification and pre-orders, the only one I know of was ECI. And they only were suppose to notify and sell to previous buyers of the series. I don't think that worked out as planned. Ebay was full of presale hedgehogs in early March for what seems now like a huge bargain. Check the history of sold hedgehogs. You could have got one in the $200's.

Does anyone know what the starting market price was for the Hedgehog? I know that when the Ural Owl was released the general market price was about $100. It appears that the Hedgehog came out with a hefty price tag right from the very begining. I missed the Wolverine altogether, but would guess that the release price was probably very similar to the Owl at around $100. If anyone who has been with the series from the very begining can share some of this info, that would be great. Thanks.

Eurocollections will tell you they are out of stock, just as they did with me :(
Sorry to say guys, but you're never going to be billed for them.

Screw Downies, never buying from them again after this ordeal.

That's the same seller who offered a Wolverine for $1800 a few weeks ago. That one didn't sell because the description said there were "very small surface chips on outer edge, very small line on back" It might be the same coin.
Here's the old link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...sspagename=STRK:MEWAX:IT&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

Be sure to ask questions first.

I bought my Wolverines for $70 US way back in May 2009. It was readily available then. It took about another year for the price to double and then with the release of the Owl, the price really took off. The Owl was $89 when it first came out. It was around $100-$150 for most of the winter. It's price rapidly increased in late Feb with the announcement of the hedgehog.

Not sure if the prices will continue to skyrocket. There's always a ceiling. And as the series continues, I think it will follow the same pattern as the Deadly & Dangerous series. The initial coin(s) will hold it's value, but subsequent releases will devalue the rest of the series.

Against some poor reviews, I purchased a gulo gulo from numiscollect.eu for 999 Euro shipped by UPS. I paid by CC so that should give me some measure of protection. I will update everyone regarding my experience with them because they do have some good prices.

Lucky. :), The thing is, if I had seen the coin before, I would've jumped on it. I guess I am just a bit late to the game.

someone on ebay just sold the set of 3 for 3000 dollars. Wow!!! I would've jumped on that if I didn't already just order 2 from APMEX.

am I the only one who thinks the wolverine is the worst looking one out of the 3?? It kinda scares me. :)

I love the wolverine , I don't find it scary at all, I think he has a gentle face/expression.

Fess up - how many hedgehogs did you get and how many did you keep?

I got 2 and kept both.
The price of the owl and the wolverine is too crazy for me to play ball :+)
