Tasmanian Tigers - worth $300? Or worth More?!

As the title says..... I've got a few kicking around and wondering if the going rate of $300 is it for these or on the balance of probabilities going higher? Seems Downies is bringing out a coin a year around October in this set, the third due late this year I suppose, similar to what they did with the Deadly & Dangerous and the redback went to a grand in that series. Opinions?

I think a few have been going around 250-270 on here.
I guess more on ebay.
Whats a deadly and dangerous set worth these days?

Hi,
I think the jump in the price of the redback was a lot quicker than what has happened with this coin.
The tiger should steadily increase in value as it is a coin that seems to be sought after and sells for a good price but it will never hit redback prices in my opinion.

Blake.

tassy tiger extincted
redback still around ...

tassy may surpassed redback oneday :)

The Tassie Tiger is an exceptional coin. I bought one for my father and I wish I'd bought one for myself (would have secured a COA of 0666 .... three times lucky in Chinese numerology)

Im looking to buy for less than 200. (i saw the drop in silver but the damn tiger dont drop in price
:-)

But i have 3 eagles. If they go up more than tiger i can try to swap 2 eagles for 1 tiger

Anyone else had problems with the capsules coming loose during shipping on these? if you ship them make sure to have some padding between the box and capsule

With a coin that's purely numismatic, the underlying price of its metal is irrelevant. Other numismatic coins of high value are made of copper, nickle etc making them have an underlying metal value of like 2 cents but collectors will pay hundreds or more for the coin.

Had that problem with the eagle I got from the Perth Mint, luckily no damage.

You need some big hoarder who control big quantity to do that. Personally, I think the price has peaked. Those who really want it already bought it, the rest of us, who do NOT have to have it, will never pay such premium for 1 oz silver :)

Just look at the1999 US Mint silver proof set, the price was as high as $400-500 back in 2007, then down to $200 or so, now to 130 or so. People who really want it already bought it. So the price has to go down. I saw a guy just put 100 sets on Ebay, for $130 or so for a set, still too expensive, if you ask me :o

Came across one in a post office selling for RRP going to go in there today check if they still have it. Looks like they still going around the $300 mark on eBay.
