Stacking for SHTF "FLOODING"

Well we had torrential rain over 24 hours yesterday and my home town is flooded.
Bloody glad we live up high and we did not suffer as many thousands have down below.
As for the SHTF stacking i am wondering where the silver and gold actually fit in.
As the water was rising we took stock of what we had away in the safes, but of course we were safe and dry .
Just 300 meters away people were having the worst nights of their lives though.
It is not just the water and everything getting wet at issue , but the actual shit that was floating around in it.
After taking stock of our metals and preparing to ship them out to the masses i realized that THEY WERE NOT EVEN USING SILVER AND GOLD DURING THIS EVENT.
They were filling bags with SAND , Thats right if you can believe it, SAND IN THE BAGS TO STOP WATER>
SO silver and gold was of no use this time around.
BUGGER!

You onviously weren't using it right. If you would have paddled down to the local market you could have used a few oz of silver to buy guns and ammo, food, land and everything else you'd need to battle zombies... oh wait never mind. Doesn't work for that either. :)

Tampons. Enough tampons beat any flood. It's all I stack when flooding time is imminent. During summer I stack ice of the H2O variety. I have a secret formula passed down through generations.

It is frightening to read on local FB pages( wife's account as i don't have one)How many people are asking about super markets being open as they ARE OUT OF FOOD>
This was a 24 hour event and i guess some of the programmes i have watched saying 72 hours away from anarchy could be right.
Lets just assume that everyone posting on those pages got paid last night and were DUE TO DO SHOPPING anyhow.
If that is the case then there are many many more poor people out here than i realized.
We will do our bit and venture out soon and help some folks clean up .
I was also super duper amazed at all the people posting to FB of beds and rooms available for the night TO STRANGERS.
Kind of give me a little tingle to think about all the generosity out there.
Tomorrow though i can see all the people posting about all the stuff they lost and expecting hand outs.
We saw this after the CHCH earthquakes and people were making a living off taking "donations" from others,SCUMBAGS

During the recent rains in QLD the trains just stopped running stranding plenty of people at the stations. If their partners couldn't drive to the station to pick them up, that was it! I have chucked a chocolate bar into my everyday carry :)

As it was, my sister got talking to a couple of the people she was stranded with and by the time my mum got through to pick her up they had made arrangements to stay over at my Mum's place for the night. Fortunately the water receded and they both managed to leave early the next day. Might have been an issue for them if it had kept raining though, or if one of them was an axe murderer.

Anyway, with all that gold and silver you could have bought all the sand you needed and paid someone to fill the sandbags for you.

Throw a couple of coins in the water to help kill bacteria.
Thats what we could have done.
Had a lot of people complaining about gas smells while they had their kids frolicking in the water, IT WAS SEWAGE.
I lost count of the number pf adults i told this too and that they should not let their kids play in it, but because they could not see big turds floating around thought i was crazy.
Now i am a little crazy, but i was correct about the sewage in the water,i can see a surge in Hepatitis coming to our wee town soon.

People are just not prepared in any way for floods, in WA all emergency services are preparing for the imminent 100 year flood in and around perth suburbs,I have spent time marking the flood zone expected height on power poles which doesnt seem to shock anyone? and handing out govnt paid for flood awareness packs to households that even contain wind up radio flash light and siren! people think the 100 year flood is a joke!

If it comes as expected then no gas no power no water no sewerage no transport no food no weather protection and limited manpower to rescue those who choose to live in low lying areas within the official 100 year flood zone.

move to the South China Sea, no food there. they are stacking sands over there.
