Just thought i'd share
I was in the Perth Mint yesterday, in the bullion buying room, at the booth next to me was (i think) a Dad and son
From the snippets i heard and saw, the son had spent his $$ on what looked like a cast kilo bar. He was fondling it so much the sales person had to ask for it back to put it in a bag
i think i heard the little bloke ahd $3 left in his account or soemthing like that.
The sales person also mentioned that the young bloke couldn't sell it back to the mint until he was 18, and they were all making comments on what it might be worth then, and how much it might be able to buy then.
I didn't want to pry, and I wasn't trying to eavesdrop, but if that dad is a forum member here, congratulations mate......VERY well done getting the young bloke involved in PM's and giving him a real example of non fiat money, and how that 1kg bar may be worth a lot more than fiat ever would be in his future.
I hope that what i saw yesterday is a regular event in the bullion room!
