Was wondering that myself. I can't believe the mintage was so low for the 2012 carded koalas. Glad I grabbed one :)

When will perthmint launch 2013 specimen koala?

Maybe they won't release any. Didn't they recently change their mintage policy and also change the definition of what a specimen coin is?
I think a normal bullion coin with a card does not count as a specimen coin anymore.

Specimen Coins

Although we thought it was based on sound reasons, the previous decision to describe packaged bullion coins as specimen quality was inappropriate.

This practice is amended and our definition of specimen quality now relates exclusively to bullion-like strikes featuring one or more numismatic treatments.

Are these carded Koalas more expensive the uncarded ones? If so, why?

So reading between the lines the next carded Koala will be Perth's definition of a specimen coin. :)

"featuring one or more numismatic treatments"

Hint, hint! :D

Thought I would give this thread a bit of a bump :D

My good postie kindly delivered this to me today, I have never seen one of these before so had to grab it

Perth Mint Two-Coin Show Special
Florida United Numismatics, January 2010

Total Mintage of just 1500 :D

Im not sure if the are any other two coin koala cards from other years but I would say this is quite rare
