Specific Date of Collapse nominated

I do believe the economy will collapse, but I have held that belief for a really long time, and things just keep on puttering along.

So in this thread I will keep track of the brave souls who nominate a specific date for the collapse.

Maybe in the future when we stumble on past these dates with no real change, it will give perspective.

So I will start things off with...

Egon von Greyerz, 1 August 2017 who says in bold "In the next 3-5 years most asset classes, be it stocks, bonds or property or just currencies are likely to lose 75% to 99% against gold and silver. That gives a wide expiry date of 1 August 2020 to 1 August 2022.

Make sure your baked beans tins expire no earlier than then.

Well thats the thing.

The self-proclaimed experts keep on predicting the collapse, but the darn economy refuses to die.

Having a specific date makes it more entertaining.

Rogers back at it again... another year-in-year-out collapse predictor since at least 2003.
 
It is good business really.

Publicity when they make the prediction.

No real consequences when it doesnt come true.

But, if one day a prediction comes even partially true, then you can take credit for being the genius who defied the experts and cleverly anticipated what would happen.
 
August 17, 2017 - discovered this one a bit late.
I don't have the patience to actually watch the video and see if Maloney does name the date, but the title of the video is "

And take credit for it for the rest of career. In fact it can make your career as many "predictors" of the GFC have cashed in on.

Failing that there's always 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 ... etc.

Like catching a train in Sydney, you know it's coming, but you never know when.
