Well lets see what happens once all sold out..
Just checked and BB only has 5 left.
So we must be getting close to a sell out, (until PM do the privy)

I see a couple proofs went for 85-90 recently -the fees.

I didnt see any for sale at retail prices besides one thread around here, so it may be hard to finish these sets in the future.

I only had 5 seconds to make my mind up on perth mints website as it was crashing, i may have got one but decided against it, i may be willing to buy one from somebody for perth mints price 104 + 7.50 delivery :) when i have spare cash, am getting a roll of mice at the moment.

I have a roll of bullion and if i see 35-7$ i will by another.

BB is now sold out for anyone watching that thread :) edit - Looks like 400 more added...

- I will add that i have put in a few stupid bids on kooks as i have 6 to go but i get out bid still.

I only really notice as i have a link on my desktop from when i changed to opera so i could get to BB before i added the bookmarks.
I purchased mine from maggie for 41.50, still up 50c/coin :)

Not that im worried if it drops as the 10oz coins under 300 were looking good, i have only been collecting since my registration date mostly all downwards on the chart.

KJC seems to still have the same amount from the other thread at good prices if someone wants a box.

So, if you bought the 1oz Proof you are now sitting on a paper loss. If you bought the 3 coin set you are now sitting on a paper loss. If you bought the 1/2oz proof....well..... its always going to be a loss.
I sold my 3 coin set here for what I paid ($402 + post), a couple of days later one sold on eBay for over $500 so was kicking myself, but now I see them going for $350-385... wow.

Perth Mint are really killing the demand for their Lunar series with all these privies, adding extra sets/coins, etc. I will continue to "collect" the high relief coins for my personal collection and buy the 1oz bullion lunar coins (for the right price), but think I will stick with Series 1 for any numismatic Lunar purchases.

Not according to the mint, (better be quick) what a load of .....

Quoted from Perth Mint email (Only a week after release and the special edition Lunar snakes had an amazing response. The High Relief and Gilded releases are selling really fast!

Extremelly limited and highly sought-after, the 2013 Year of the Snake Typeset Collection is now out of stock on The Perth Mint website. The popularity of the Lunar series continues to climb, so do be quick to secure your favourites!)

We are often reminded that Perth Mint staff frequent this forum.

I wonder if any of them are listening?

the new n00bee are hitting the snakes real hard, the snakee head is now flat, wait till the privy come.

will those n00bee get fed up as well, we shall see.

the number of people has suddenly multiple and they jump in with both feet into these overpriced coins.
but who knows what will become of their action in the future.

Got my colored SNAKE yesterday.. Number 2012 grrrr 1 off.. I'm thinking COA 2013 would fetch a beaut price.. Any thoughts? Surely my 2012 has to do alright too seeing that is really the release date??

IMHO.....I don't think they are listening to the end user, it seem they don't care much about price declining of their products after released.

I tell you there's gold in that goose

1st there were collectors and investors who bought it for long term ... then speculators showed up who came for quick profit ... and speculation didn't bring what they thought it would.
So, the blame goes to PM ... just because speculators don't like it anymore.

BTW the purpose of bullion is not to make a quick profit for speculator ... so relax, keep stacking and stop speculating ))

Fair point.

I wasn't clear, but I was specifically talking about numismatic items, e.g. Perth Mint decide to release a whole bunch of new 2oz Lunar Proofs, 6 years into the series. So their mintage has effectively doubled. Investors get screwed.

As for bullion ... well, you take your chances.

;)
The problem is
That every man & his dog with $10k or more to play with think they can play " THE DEALER / FLIPPER "

Just buy a roll or two if you see a bargain.

If you are buying one or two, and you think they are too expensive, go without your burger and chips for a day or don't drink those extra two stubbies on Friday and Saturdy night :P

If spot breaks out, you'll be selling your snake for good bucks.

If spot turns turtle this year, you might have to wait awhile.

There's no right or wrong with bullion but one things for sure, regardless if you like the bluddy design or not, Perth make high quality bullion coins that over the short and longterm do well.

If you don't like lunars, pick something else or buy 10oz bars.

The thing I like about lunars is people buy them, they like to collect them and some of them go numi especially some of the larger coins.

The only thing I'm pissed off about is that the lunar snake release didn't coincide when spot was $26 - $27 bucks :P

Next year when they release the Horse, what will spot be? Hopefully $55 bucks and then you'll be saying F I wish I bought those snakes. :D

Eat, drink, stack and be happy ;)

Cheers

What about current prices of Tigers ($60-$70) and Oxes ($50-$65). I wasn't stacking when these came out, but I'm sure you could pick them up from the dealers at normal premiums.

Name a dealer that has previous issues ,not many
It's all private sellers .
I know only one dealer who has SI & SII Lunars ;)
Peter Strich :D

Just posting ot say Peter is a top bloke. Very helpful. Even chatted with his wife for a bit haha

What sort of BULLION is realised at $10 over spot... ANSWER... one with FLIPPERS and RETAILERS trying to fleece their customers..

I agree with your point, its just not valid for the Lunar Series from Dragon on.

But yes BULLION is an investment, BULLION with Excessive Speculative premiums is speculative. Not nearly the same amount of downside risk as PM nusmismatics whcih risk 100%-200% or MORE downside potential NOT including inflation, And the odds of picking a PM product that would increase or hold value are decreasing each year they produce more and more product diluting demand for any one (not to mention other world mints SPITTING out silver coins at huge premiums of there sivler content).

Id say bullion has a 200% upside and a 25% downside.

It does not look like kookaburras are getting any cheaper.

I had a bid in for a 1990 kook at 73.58 delivered as it had no toning, thought it may make highest bid and did not care just had money at the time, it went for $112.49...

Anyone got an untoned one for sale? I may be interested.
