according to Worlds Instant Noodle Association, the consumption of instant noodles in China have fallen from

46.2 billion packets in 2015 to 38.5 billion packet a drop of 17%

The takeaway from that is that Chinese are moving away cheap and nasty to better quality food.

Still baby steps but wait till 1.4 billion people want a steak a month.

Wait till we sell them kangaroo and call it cow of the south.
 
I quite like ramen even instant but imagine for 8 billion meals, Chinese ate something else that year.

Maccas, KFC, Outback steak house and countless unknown others must be waiting for a bonanza.

Must investigate AAC.ax for a long term bet.
 
Contrary to what most people think many (skinny) Chinese suffer from diabetes because of their (white) rice rich diet. They have it in lots of their dishes.


Is White Rice Responsible for the Diabetes Spike in China?

Rice currently feeds almost half the human population, making it the single most important staple food in the world, but a meta-analysis of seven cohort studies following 350,000 people for up to 20 years found that higher consumption of white rice was associated with a significantly increased risk of type 2 diabetes, especially in Asian populations. They estimated each serving per day of white rice was associated with an 11 percent increase in risk of diabetes. This could explain why China has almost the same diabetes rates as we do.

Diabetes rates in China are at about 10 percent, the U.S. is at about 11 percent, despite seven times less obesity in China. Japan has eight times less obesity than we do, yet may have a higher incidence of newly diagnosed diabetes cases than we do; nine per a thousand compared to our eight. They’re skinnier and still may have more diabetes.

Give it a decade, they will be ten percent fatter in 20/30 years they will start to at least catch up to Japan/Korea before getting to Australia level of obesity in 50 years. (Don’t think no country will get as fat Americans)

Also it’s a interesting point, on rice, in Korea many people got richer they have for long time started move away from straight white rice to mixing white rice with barley, beans and brown rice plus other wonder grains, due to diabetes. Presume. It will be the same in China as they get more disposable cash

This echoes what Gerald Celente says in his latest KWN interview; pointing out that its middle class has grown from 6% in 2000 to near 35% now, with huge implications for China's consumer demands, and hence other countries (Australia's?) potentials.

Being a 45 year old Korean, I look at the ups and downs of Korea since 2000 be it economy or wealth of Koreans, a striking similarity to Japanese, hence looking at China, I cant imagine why it wont follow the similar path.

Remember decades of Jap Crap like Sony and Sharp, which was replaced by cheap as shit crappy Korean electronics made by Samsung and LG, look at them now.

China will turn into the biggest consumers in the world. That boom is yet to occur, it will make the past 3 decades of 10% plus GDP growth look small. Of course the paradigm might be 4% growth but in absolute terms it will be mind blowing.

Imagine in the next two decade when every Chinese will have fridge, air conditioning, a car or two and more electronic consumer gear than they need just like all developed world. If that seems far fetched, in 1970 less than half of Korean house holds could afford a TV!

Consumerism in China will create a resource boom in Australia that will make all the other booms in the past look like a steady growth.

Its the carbs and insulin spikes that increase the risk of diabetes. The more refined the carbs, white bread, sugar, pasta, white rice, etc, the more impact it has. You could be pretty fat and eat a low carb diet and I doubt you would get diabetes.

Italians eat pasta more or less very day and Japanese eat white rice more or less every day and don't have a real issue with diabetes. I think this carbs thing is blown way out of proportion, it's more to do with life style and all the other crap we eat in our foods these days.

It is 100% connected to carbs and has a genetic nature to it too. Just think what happens when you have carbs, insulin spikes to take care of it. What is diabetes? Problems with insulin. All the native tribes that used to have fat and protein as their main calorie source are way less adapted to a carb lifestyle we have in the west which is why they get diabetes much easier.

Fat people eat a lot so have put their pancreas through more, ie aged it more, and if you've been eating a lot of refined carbs its worse. Didn't the asians used to eat brown rice, since when has white rice taken over in japan and china? If its only in the last 50 years or something it explains why their diabetes are higher now.

Just because italians eat pasta each day doesn't mean their carb level is higher than the average australian/american.
