That 500oz au may be difficult to achieve... agree on the 5000oz ag
But we are not average men (& women). We are the Stackeratti.TreasureHunter said:Even 100 oz is a decent amount for the average man.

In the olden days indeed it was.
Today almost every financial planner would recommend 0% allocation to PMs.
I think a reasonable stack target is 5-10% of net worth.
20% tops. Anything more is ignoring the necessity income producing wealth mindlessly. A lot of this depends on your age and circumstance and the tax regime you live under, do you have dependents you want to help after you are gone. It is not good to die worried for those you love. The young should focus on income producing investments and clearing debt not PMs beyond a few ounces of gold and a couple of kilos of silver...
SHTF and such is nonsense to sell army surplus to urbanite paranoiacs.

I don't understand how you could have only stacked 3 ounces of silver so far with 45 trades to your name? Were all those trades in non silver PM's?

3 ounces is pretty good!
I use to save old tin foil and cut them into squares, managed to get enough to make a hat.
Then slowly move up to old screws and keys... after that it was bits of copper.
So now I sell the hats to get some money for a bus fare to old building sites and collect scrap which I sell and finally buy my ounce of silver.
Long process! I guess it's teaches one the true value of silver.
