Very nice, not only do you have some nice silver there but it's a usable item.

Don't be affraid to use it, I wouldn't be :)

cigarette cards, postcards, stamps, bubblegum cards, trade cards, cufflinks, ties, masonic & other SS regalia, war medals , jewellery, silver spoons and cutlery, fine bone china, ancient coins, silver antique world coins.. gems .. bullion..

I need to cut down~ need to substitute for GOLD and more gems.. SMALL is the secret.. even thought most of above is small.

Collecting vintage cars/bikes.. now that would be messy

yeah imagine the space you would need.

I love watching the show American Pickers and seing them go through peoples stuff. Man if i ever get that bad someone needs to smack me.

I'm in the antique trade so I've picked up a heap of Sterling (and .900, .800)Silver cutlery, flatware, tea/coffee sets etc for way under spot over the years, in fact there's actually a big concern amongst many antique dealers/collectors that many rare and beautiful antiques are being sold as scrap and being melted down simply because people don't know what they have!
If anyone has anything they think is particularly old or what not and aren't sure whether it's worth NOT melting....
Feel free to post a pic & I'll give you my opinion on whether it's likely to fetch more as an antique than melt.
*NOTE: I'm not offering to buy.....just let you know my opinion with regards to it's potential value.

Incredible the quality... this has stood stand the time!

RE: Sterling Cutlery.. i was soooo keen to get it, i found it very brittle and way to good at conducting heat. (practically its not there). Just dont go near the ice cream lads.. it will end in tears.. im still crying.
