SilverDoctors & KWN, how long have they been predicting a price surge?

Seems like every week sites like SilverDoctors and KWN run stories predicting an imminent, just-around-the-corner, explosion in the price of silver, often combined with economic oblivion.

How long has this been going on for? And why do people keep going back for more?

As far as I can remember.
People go there because they like to hear what they want to hear and are seeking confirmation for their choices.

What do you expect? You've got to remember that KWN and Silver Doctors readers are just simple folk. These are people of the land. The common clay of the Western world. You know... morons.

Don't forget, after every explosion, there is an inrush of product to fill the void left by the detonation. Silver exploded and now we are in the "fill the void" phase....
Eventually we will get to the silver "nuclear" explosion......it is a bit like going to "ludicrous" speed on Space Balls the movie...it will only happen once.

And knowing my luck I'll miss it by a long shot.

To be fair a lot of really really clever people who don't really care about silver were shocked that things turned out as boring and good for stocks as they did.

I'm not shocked that smart people got things wrong though and I'm much less shocked king world news got things wrong.

But here I am, after waiting and watching for nearly 5 years I jumped in head first last year. I don't think I'll be buying a hover car with my silver money this year but I don't think I'll be waiting anther 5 either. I really want that hover car.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

1980s??!!! did you ever regret getting into silver/gold?
Never, but I like wild rides
Good to hear that. I will keep on stacking then :D

The traffic to these websites is probably mostly people new to the scene, and the owners of these sites are tailoring their material for just this type of person. It doesn't mean they're stupid (unless it's the same person going back year after year with unwavering faith). Knowledge doesn't equate intelligence. Babies don't know much of anything yet but it would be wrong to call them stupid for this.

Many people on this site probably started with websites like these (I did and I know I'm not alone). Now one thing I notice here at SS is you've got so many members with some seniority here preaching the popular opposite view, and name calling any that believe in this sort of thing (tin foil hat wearers/lunatics/malooneys) that others are AFRAID to come out and say they believe this. New people don't know any better. So I learned this the hard way. (I will however say most people here were actually pretty friendly about it and I was never chased away with spears thrown at me).

I've learned quite a bit since I joined here, and still have plenty more to learn. I no longer believe a doomsday scenario is likely but I think a complete overhaul of our current financial system is probably inevitable. I'm no economist though. I just don't think this debt game can go on forever. Even if something drastic like this occurs (God forbid they formally introduce the RFID plan) the effect this has on PMs might be negligible. I think it depends on the effect any sort of change has on the general population's faith. Regardless of what does or doesn't happen, I've decided PMs is a smart (and enjoyable) thing for me to put my paper money into. But I'm not going to call anyone an idiot for believing in something that I don't believe in (unless it's Christianity...hehe...joke. Somebody pick up the rocks I'm ready to get stoned).

You got me Sonic:)
I also cut my teeth a few years back with these sites .
You nailed my reason as well, to confirm my bias.
Luckily it only lasted a couple of months to realize that the markets were changing , yet their stories were NOT.
I had a really good think last night about the "appeal of silver" and i think i know what the big appeal is FOR ME.
When i was moving into pm's from coins and started flipping to get cheap metal i quickly found that almost everyone knew gold had value, yet many did not understand value with silver.
A thrift shop i use has 9ct gold items at well above spot, yet their silver cabinet was filled with EPNS an STERLING all at the same price.
My first decent buy in there i spent $110 and walked out with 1800 grams of sterling.
The lack of knowlegde of silver by the masses is amazing.
THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER IS , SILVER IS JUST AS LIQUID AS GOLD, but people do not see this unless it is silver jewelry.
