I think the issue is that China is no longer as interesting (in the positive sense) as it was in 2010/11. Since then it's the publicised meddling with HK & Taiwan & disputes in South China Sea, covert and overt support to Norks, pollution, communist totalitarianism, social engineering and control,.. (the list is endless really) that have shifted the collectors' favourable view off from the shiny pandas. Just my two cents (maybe it would be safer not to say this and just blame Trump).

I'm pretty sure most people who bought in 2010/11 are not seeing the same price.
2010/11 was the Pinnacle of the last major bull run. Its comparing apples and oranges in both price and demand. What you really need to compare is the premium % over spot today vs 2010/11.
