I never buy my PMs there, that's just asking for trouble.

I was planning on getting a monster box of pandas, but with this kind of mintage... I don't think so.

I'll stay with Lunar II series and hope that Perth won't increase mintage numbers.
 
What part of the 3 million silver Pandas is intended for sale inside China and what part is for export? The government has publicly advised its citizens to buy silver. Do they now plan to export 102 tons of silver as Pandas? There's a decent chance that most of the 3 million will never leave China and the flood of coins that some foreign collectors expect could turn out to be a trickle. Will a couple of million Pandas being passed around China give a big boost to the popularity and value of all Panda coins as more people take an interest in them? This is going to be interesting.

I have ordered 100 of them for starters. But this panda motive gets repetitive, I prefer Lunar 2.
 
With all the fake Pandas being sold, I will not be buying any more Pandas. It just isn't worth the risk.

One man's poison is another man's meat. At least I know there are less competition for Chinese Pandas. But I agree with Peter. Let's hope the true Panda collectors start chasing up the pre-2011 prices. But then again, I've got none to sell. LOL.

I think I like the 2010 design better.

What is astonishing is the premiums older pandas accumulate.

As with most things the source of your coins is very important with pandas. I wouldn't buy these off anywhere but trusted or accountable sources. ebay forget about it.

I havent got any silver pandas and only one mint sealed gold panda from a trusted seller that passes all tests like weight, diameter, plastic seals and marks, slanted milled edges, thickness etc.
 
I have 120+ 2010 silver pandas and one 2010 gold panda. All were purchased from Gainesville. But the doubt I went through regarding the authenticity of my 2010 gold panda, killed my interest in those coins.

I remember that doubt; and know it all too well with a real live fake at one point as I posted here a few months ago.

While I haven't forgotten that episode, the genuine panda I have is truly a nice coin. I don't have the silver ones at all.

What is your feeling on those? Did they come in the plastic sleeves also?
 
intelligencer it was the posting of your experience that made me question my own recently purchased 2010 1oz gold panda coin. My silver pandas were purchased from Gainesville and the premium was $7.25/coin (ouch). The order of 120 pandas came in flat sheets of 30 and it looks like each coin is inside a capsule. The remaining 10 coins (4 were mine) came with capsules.
 
Just asking Golden. I'm keen to bring some in but amongst stackers the pandas have an image problem due to the vast problem of counterfeits which has been experienced twice on these boards.

Once on an anniversary set, and once by myself on a 2010 gold panda.
 
And I must add that what I really like about the pandas apart from the beautiful minting in the original coins is the fact that the premiums on past coins do grow quite handsomely. Very few other silver bullion coins come even near that sort of appreciation.

Definitely some real plus sides to the pandas. A bit of a sleeper in some respects.
