Silver 1kg coins vs 1kg bar?

Any one know why the silver 1kg coins seem to be cheaper than the 1kg bars ???
Also would be interested to know if buying 1kg coins instead of bars would affect you in a negative way when re selling.
 
One would think you could get more for a 1kg coin than a 1kg bar, if only for the fact that there far many more bars floating around than coins.

where are they cheaper? and are you comparteing like vs like ( i.e. a bar and a coin from the same mint)


if I can get some PM 1kg coin cheaper than their bars id be very interested :D

A 1kg coin sold for $1,040 here last night, is that what you're referring to?
 
Disregard my post, A local private dealer i usually see sent me an email with some 1kg coins he had available and has just informed me he made a mistake on pricing. I knew it seemed odd and was allways under the impression coins where infact more expensive for obvious reasons. When i double checked on my local online dealers website being at work and in a rush i also made a mistake of thinking they where for $1018 at todays price when it was actually $1118. Please delete thread if possible. I knew it was too good to be true....
 
Either way I think you should go for the cheaper ones. In this case: coins. They also have numismatic value - even bullion coins.

Usually I find bars cheaper than coins...
