Series II Lunar Prices for 1 oz BU

Hey everyone, I've decided to make a rough estimate price on the current Series 2 Lunar coins, mainly for 1 oz BU. Please, this is not meant to be totally accurate or anything like that, it's just an estimation based on several factors.

These factors include include advertised prices from big retail metal shops (like Apmex, etc), worldwide auctions (like EBay, not "localized auctions"), transactions/sales data from Silverstackers, if it's been holding its premium despite silver prices having gone down, etc

Here it is, and yes, this is only a rough guide. Also I'm not being biased towards price, like if a coin is perceived as being under or overvalued. If people are paying x amount of dollars for that coin and that price keeps at it repeatively, who are we to say otherwise.

So here it goes: (please note that there have been cases where coins have been sold over and under their targeted price.

2008 Lunar Mouse: $45-$50 (continues to rise)
2009 Ox $90-$100+ (this continues to rise)
2010 Tiger $75-85 ( this coin though has been sold numerous times around the $100 area)
2011 rabbit $55 ish (price has been going sideways)
2012 Dragon $65 ish (it has taken a hit from when it first came out but now has found its sweet spot in the mid to high $60s

What the poster "thatguy" said. Plus there is also the "x" factor, which means there are other unknown reasons why the premiums are so high.
APMEX ive noticed has been sold out the longest time.

Ox was reminted up to 300k and sold to buyers mainly in Germany and US.

Thats why one overseas stacker (who will remain anonymous) was happy to swap their roll of Ox with roll of Dragons. Dragons are rarer where he lives, Ox are rarer where I live.
 
Dragon and Mice are the best value 1oz Lunars at this stage.
Ox is very much overpriced vis a vis to the current Dragon, Tiger and Mice.
At the end of this current series I have no doubt that a Dragon or Tiger will fetch a much higher premium than an Ox.
Logistics is the reason why the Ox fetches its high premium as all the current lunar coins share the same mintage.

you can see all the mintages buy googling "perth mint mintages" and looking at the pdf's

but to answer your question. 300,000 of each year's 1oz and 5,000 of each years 1oz proof (some still being made now & sold but 5k will be made)

when you say some still being made, do you mean this years dragons? or do they go back and mint older models if they didnt sell out when released?

all can be the same 1oz, but I manage to swap my mice and tiger for ox 1:1 and sell dragon.

all 300k, so they are the same, but appear on different places.

so the best is still to buy the under-priced BU coins
got mice for $43 and dragon for $65-70
 
My baby's arrived :) so back to playing with silver. The price of dragons have been crazy. Thank-you for your guide.
 
Prices for the Ox are going up here in North America now as well, 4 weeks ago I picked up 2 for $51.xx each shipped now they're up to $70 + shipping.
 
Buy the cheapest ones, Dragons are the only ones with universal demand. THe rest is subjective. I doubt buying OX's at $70-$80 is the best investment practice.

Id say mice and rabbits under $50 are, also Dragons at $65 is decent.

Considering Series 1, with much much lower mintages are selling for around the $80~$90 mark, I don't know why people expect the Ox to rise anymore.

Because people are forgetting the series 1 price.
