The far right were socialists as well. It's like one of those old computer games where if you go far enough left or right, it raps around.
The opposite to socialism is Individualism whereby the fundamental principle is that individuals are the natural owners of their self and consequently imbued with the inalienable property right of their person. This recognition of the ultimate natural right is the only internally consistent, logically arguable (and bleeding obvious) starting position for any political philosophy.
