Well it is true that the socialists don't believe that you own your own body and instead you are the physical property of the state to be done with as the state wishes. In which case the decision whether to defend a person's body should not be in the hands of the person themselves.

Sums up socialism to a tee, the ownership or control of everything.

What's not to like

We face some grim political choices:

* Far left socialism, total state ownership
* Far right authoritarianism, total state control

It's like one of those old computer games where if you go far enough left or right, it raps around.

The far right were socialists as well. They even put the clue in their name - you know National Socialism.

The opposite to socialism is Individualism whereby the fundamental principle is that individuals are the natural owners of their self and consequently imbued with the inalienable property right of their person. This recognition of the ultimate natural right is the only internally consistent, logically arguable (and bleeding obvious) starting position for any political philosophy.

I think calling Hitler "far right" is the left trying to re-write history. Hitler was a socialist. A racist one but still an authoritarian socialist.
