Due to land clearing, our creeks and rivers are choked with sand. The water is inaccessible to native animals & has to be pumped out for livestock to drink.
If we could dredge our freshwater creeks & rivers of sand before it gets lost to the ocean & becomes contaminated with salt it would be a win:win situation.
But the bloody greenies who infest the bureaucracy won't listen to logic and put all their effort into stopping progress.
Desert sand is too far away from civilisation to be commercially viable. Transport cost is too high.
Washing sand from ocean dredge spoil is also very expensive. You have to pay to transport it to a site to wash it. Then pay for the fresh water. Then pay to wash it. Then you have to pay to get rid of the wash water. You don't want salt crystals forming in your concrete.
