I live just outside of Chicago, Illinois, USA. I attend an area meet with 50-75 dealers monthly. Generally there is only 1 dealer who has an assortment of pandas and then maybe 3-4 that have a stray here and there. Overall, panda enthusiasm is usually low in my area. Today wasn't much different in terms of availability, but dealers normally not interested in pandas were LOOKING FOR THEM. Good sign IMO, and what's better...I had brought a pocket full of slabbed, capsule and OMP pandas to barter with because I wanted to weed out some low-grade coins and also happened to be low on cash this month. I actually ended up selling them outright and using the proceeds to pick up some other items I was interested in. Here are the results:
Sold to dealers:
1989 1 oz silver - capsule only: $85
1990 1 oz silver - large date - OMP: $105
1993 1 oz silver - small date - NGC/NCS MS67 - $210
2001 1 oz silver - NGC/NCS MS66 - $100
2001 1 oz silver - capsule only: $100
2 x 2008 1 oz silver - capsule only: $75 ea.
2009 1 oz silver - 30th ann. capsule only: $100
Overall, quite a different experience this month; and I'm pretty damn happy with the sale prices.
