Does anyone here store their PMs in a safe deposit box in another city? Do you feel comfortable with the situation knowing that they aren't at arm's reach if you needed access to them in a hurry?
Unfortunately there aren't any safe deposit box services where I live. The only cities in New Zealand with private vaults are Auckland, Wellington and Dunedin.
Dunedin is kind of inconvenient, as flights are expensive (no competition) and it's a five hour drive each way.
Wellington is the political capital, but also the earthquake capital of New Zealand. I wouldn't fancy having my PMs stored in a CBD vault there when the big one strikes (the statistical likelihood of this happening in the near future is way too high).
That leaves Auckland, which is easy to get to and also has the most options (choice of four private vaults). Then we get this headline in today's paper. LOL.
