Rubbery & Metallic Shit to Cryptos

This is somewhat inspired by Jason1's "Rubbery Shit to Gold" post, thought I would do something different just for fun.

My wife found someone giving away these rubbery and metallic pieces of crap in their hard rubbish, she went over to pick them up and came back home with 52 of these random rubbery pieces of crap and 111 pieces of metallic pieces of crap.

While I'm not going to be able to sell into the hype of a current running Woolies campaign, there is a market on eBay for these pieces of crap.

So here's the deal, tonight I will create two listings on eBay starting at $0.99 on a 7 day auction. Whatever amount I make after taking out eBay, PayPal and postage costs, I will buy X amount of BTC.

Over time I'll keep track of how much that small amount of BTC is worth over time from the initial rubbery-and-metallic-shit-to-crypto trade.

Wish me luck and feel free to follow along for the ride :)

lol, be interesting to see how they sell, I sold the stupid things when they were during the hype of the release,People were scrambling over each other to get them. funny watching these morons pay money for that crap lol ahaha

@Jason1 why do you feel the need to constantly put down other people’s choices in order to make yourself feel better?

All done! Here's the final result - Rubbery Shit sold for a measley $6.50 and Metallic Shit outperformed my expectations and pulled in $35.01

After taking out fees, postage, PayPal fees, we're left with a grand total of $35.64 to go and buy BTC :D

Not expecting to get rich off this (but then again who knows, maybe BTC will go to the MoOn!!!11!)

Placed the order at CoinSpot and bagged 0.000472 BTC, also after taking a small hit in fees :)

Currently AUD$34.91

Let the fun begin :D

Update: 02/04/2021
0.000472 BTC
AUD$36.77
+3.1%

Bitcoin has been meeting strong resistance at psychological level of US$60k the past day or so, if/when this breaks there might be a bit of a pump

Update: 10/04/2021
0.000472 BTC
AUD$37.58
+5.45%

Broken above US$60k, should see higher prices in the next few days

Been a while since I've updated this, what a rollercoaster BTC has been on, dropped as low as $29k ish, and looked down and out. Now back above $40k

That was the peak of the bitcoin price. Now it is half its value.
Not going to lose any sleep over it mate, if you've followed along, this was free money from selling useless shit my wife found :D

Update: 06/08/2021
0.000472 BTC
AUD$19.31

Then I understand why you are so calm. I invested my savings in bitcoin when the rate was around $30,000.

This is a very original and powerful initiative.

If you would have done this back in 2012 and bought BTC, you could buy yourself at least a brand new car today!

Some believe BTC will hit thousands of dollars, who knows, good luck!

Long overdue update

Update: 15/11/2021
0.000472 BTC
AUD$42.30

We went through a short downturn and now BTC back up to around US65k and nudging AUD90k (just under right now around 89k ish)

Another long overdue update, now that BTC has cracked all time highs. Bull market in full swing now IMO.

13/11/2024
0.000472 BTC
AUD$63.20

If you're still following along, the original amount raised from the eBay sale of random rubbery and metallic crap was AUD$35.64, so we're nearly double since the first purchase of BTC with the proceeds back in 2021

This little bit of BTC has been held diamond hands style ever since, and has ridden the wave all the way down to its lows and now here at new ATHs
