Hi Silver Soul, I was just using spoons as an example.Silver Soul said:Hey Roo,
Before ya do the big smelt on those spoons! Is there any chance of me having a peek at the hallmarks on them?
Cheers
Thanks GP.. they are the ones i found. Wish there was someone in Sydney though.goldpelican said:SBA in Victoria might do it.
This silver is from batteries.hobo-jo said:Why not try selling the spoons here for the % under spot that you would need to pay to a refiner anyway. Never know your luck!
trying to refine at the same time..Captain Kookaburra said:Are you trying to refine at the same time.... i.e Sterling items

are you just recasting pure silver?
Thanks.. found it.numismatation said:Simon,
Last time I check it was, refining was $25 per raw kg + GST + losses (2%) + bar charge. For sterling item it could be as much as $60-80 fee per KG ASW.
If memory serves me right (Ironchef anyone?), there is a thread somewhere about it.
I would love to locate a good cheap refiner.
