Realistically, how much silver are you aiming for?

Some good bits of advice on here, folks. :)

It still makes a newbie like me feel somewhat inadequate to hear you all talking about 1000s of ounces though! :/

Meh...onwards and upwards!

Currently at my initial goal of 1000 ozs.

Will be progressively selling shares and buying silver up to the day the SHTF, and/or silver goes through the roof. Will not stop until I run out of money.

I like a 1500oz stack as a personal stack and add a zero for super. The simply best part about having a silver fetish is not only does buying silver act like a disciplined saving approach but it also quenches the "Money burns a hole in the pocket" feeling I get sometimes.

This silver stacking thing is very infectious.
It is running my life and having broken through the 1000 oz barrier I can assure everyone that there is not a feeling of real comfort or security.
Reckon the stacking has evolved into an incurable disease and I will have to be sectioned and transported away if it gets worse.
On the positive side it is akin to spending money ( but keeping it ) and not spending it in the shops.
Once the fiat is out of the bank or wallet it makes you appear poorer but in reality you smile in silence.

100, 000 oz would be good.

Hi guys,

but what do you think a good amount to aim for is? 100 oz, 1000 oz or more?

What do you think?

When I first started stacking 500oz was the goal - in theroy this should buy you a medium priced family home some day into the future(took 700oz in the last bull market, but this one will be MUCH bigger gains)...then I decided I like the idea of a swimming pool, tennis court, etc would be nice so 750oz was required...but also need cash flow to live on (second property) so 1250oz was the next goal...etc

Now I'm looking to buy blocks of units so the bar just keeps getting higher...

In simple 500oz will make a big difference to you life if you can hold out for the right time to sell...this would be my suggestion for all stackers thinking on this question...

Realistically: There's No Limit :P

I could maybe say 10,000oz, but I don't see why I would stop there.

Yeah true never can have enough Silver ;)

But gotta take into consideration the storage implications involved.

I reckon I would be comfortable storing around 2000oz around the home, after that I would really need to find better places to store my stack :|

However, I would be very happy if "where to store my huge stack" is an issue for me :P

Im aiming for 1000oz silver and kilo gold (coins and bars) as my first goal. After that try to add half kilo plat and palladium while still slowly adding more to gold than silver. Only really buying gold at the moment due to uncertainty. Other PM's i think near term will come down more in % terms than gold.

For me there's not really an ounce goal, if you have a goal like that, you'll buy at any price.

I'll keep buying until the price is high enough that I'll sell.

I think your a bit of a dark horse R M. While we'er talking about it your quietly putting it away. Well good luck to you but I dont know about this talk of selling not for a few years yet. Ah.

If silver goes where some think it will go, 600 ounces should do me.
If it doesn't, perhaps 1,000 ounces or more.

Realistically, I'm not anywhere near these levels at this stage.

Would be happy with 600 ounces, and stop stacking at 1200 ounces. I prefer stacking au over ag so it is slow and steady... I might pick up some silver sterling kitchenware instead of stacking too.

I won't be selling for some time yet. I meant more so that there's a time and place when everyone will cash out of PMs and if that happens to be before I reach say the 1000oz goal, then so be it!

I agree, there's never enough ounces. However, realistically speaking, 7300 is my current goal and I'm just a few dollars in a downed POS away from amassing that much. I'm pretty pound of that, especially since I'm currently unemployed, although I might have to start unloading to get thru the inevitable tough times down the road should I remain unemployed.

I'm afraid I have a different slant on why I stack silver..... I believe that the only way the USA can pay back it's debt is by hyper-inflation. This means that if bread is $3 a loaf now, I can buy 10to 12 loaves of bread for 1oz silver.... Inflation hits , Bread is $35 loaf or 3 for $100.....Silver jumps to $350 oz....Still only gets me 10 loaves of bread but If I had saved $35 fiat instead of buying 1oz silver, I can only get 1 loaf of bread ....Ah starvation wins!

How much is gold and silver worth if you have no water or food.....If I have the food and you have the silver and gold, I might be a winner.

But then again I could be wrong, maybe the USA will start a major war, that might help.

How much silver do I want to stack? Enough to buy my family food for 3 years. 1000 oz should be enough for 3 years... small stackers remember every oz could be worth you having food and those left with useless fiat will have none....

By all means have a goal, it keeps you in the game, but don't try and keep up with the bigger stackers.

For me stacking is not primary goal just to keep value of money and if goes up is good. Why, at moment there is not any business who can guarantee u certain profit, what ever u do. One my friend explain me after i asking him does he know any jeweler who goes bankrupt that they cant go bankrupt bcoz there r no warranty on there products and rest of the goods dont loss value just gain which u dont have in any other business . So any free fiat which i dont have where to invest with certain gain i putt in PM, but medium goal will be 1000 oz silver and 1 kg of gold, also i keep some amount CHF in cash like reserve against EUR/USD breakdown, i buy apartment for my mother 1 month ago, so many oz goes for that, i was sad but my mother happy, so at the end is ok, than i need to expand my sea house for my father this year-need to make him happy too, then to buy food for 1 year if SHTF come, then i need to go to world wide trip with my girlfriend , maybe i will visit u Aussie as well to load little bit with ur PM before i go back home, so when PM goal is reached probably new will come, these is in our nature, but at these moment i am thinking to start trading with PM, and make some profit so i can leave best business to my children...

500 oz is my aim.If I get to 500 then it will be 1000 oz.Im over 200 oz now,and i treat every ounce as a bonus.but honestly if i had only 50 oz id be happy.Hoping tax time is kind because i would love a couple of 1 oz gold bars to add.

No goal, no limit.

I spend a small amount on silver, little and often. Just enough to build the stack, I never sell any so I am always increasing the stack.

I never spend enough so I notice the absence of the money, I put some in the bank, I spend some on stuff, I buy some food, I pay some bills, I stack some silver.

This way I have no burning desire to hit an arbitrary limit based on how much I think silver will be worth at a particular time in the future.

Also, if it goes down in value I am not kicking myself for letting my silver purchases interfere with my life, as they haven't. I have still done everything I woud have done except the money in the bank is not as much as it would have been, which ties in to my fears of losing my money to inflation.

True, I will not have as much silver as I would have had if I had poured every cent into buying silver but I am not greedy, by not having a daily/weekly quota of silver to buy I can afford to buy in bulk once in a while at a decent price rather than buy smaller amounts and pay higher premiums and more postage.

I would hate to hit my target and feel empty!
