Rare, Collectable and Vintage Gold Bars.

I would strongly avoid the niche sites cos they would be fleecing you blind with their ridiculous premiums (unless you're willing to fork out money).

I suggest either looking out at the sales thread, or on ebay where you find some nice bars once awhile. The trick to collecting such bars is to be patient and not buy them all at one go.

You could also go down to Hong Kong where they have those nice tael bars that never go out of style.

re the niche sites, I found one that had a great selection of truly beautiful bars, but as you say the premiums were very high. I would like to try and balance what I pay extra for the numismatic value of the bar, but not pay too much over spot.

I've been wanting to go to HK for a long time, now there's even more reason for me to go!

I think I know which niche website you're talking about (he got banned by the mods here for spamming).

But personally I wouldn't pay an arm and leg.

Great suggestions up there and to cricket, happy hunting.

Here's another piece. An even older version of Hong Kong good delivery 9900 bar. Year 1982.

Interesting how Harrington cannot make it right to 999.9 purity.... so, should this be considered as their 'normal' purity on bars?

I'm not sure if these ones are legit from JM refinery... I;ve seen a few listings on fleeBay like this type of buttons/planchets, but are they real/legit? If I had spare cash perhaps, I will go for them...but since I don't, then move to the next one...

gold version, didn't know they exist.

I would say so, since that was the purity other Harrington bars had
