Bought this 10oz Geomin cast bar recently.
Rare as hen's teeth :P

Some amazing bars on this thread. Question I have is how does the man in the street get access to such bars. My bars are the run of the mill of the shelf bars. Would like to start to add t
Some history to my collection.

Some very rare gold rounds
I believe these two rounds are probably from the original trial strike while they were doing some fine tuning for the official coins.
As you can see from the XRF tests even the fineness is different (19ct) whereas the released coins was .750 fine gold (18ct)
Weight of these rounds are also uneven. One round weights 32.16 grams; the other 28.07grams

Those Fiji gold rounds looked like this when they were new:

Just do the rounds of jewellers, pawn shops, coin and bullion dealers on a weekly basis. You will soon find some gems
If I find a bar that I have never seen before I always buy it as long as I am not being gouged on the premium. I am not a fan of minted bars however I bought the Degussa bar because it is unlikely I will come across another example
I am also not afraid to stockpile any rare bars i find for future trades. Currently there's quite a few Engelhard around at "reasonable" premiums that you can stock up on to sell or trade in the future
Anyway that is the method I use to build up my collection of rare bars; would love to hear what other methods collectors use to build up their collection
Cheers

Cute 1/2oz ABC Smuggler's Pill

These are the current production version.

Yeah, I know; just like the look of it
Thinking of starting a 1/2oz Smuggler's Pill collection however choices limited to ABC Ainslie and Perth Mint at the moment. It is just a matter of time before I find some unusual examples
CK has in my opinion the best 1/2oz Smuggler's Pill and I am sorry I sold it to him :(

I've seen pics of a current-logo Perth Mint 1/2oz bar, but that size was discontinued prior to the introduction of the current logo! Not sure if it was a one-off or a marketing mockup.
