Hi everyone,
I'm a new member based in France (originally from Montreal). I've finally decided to get some expert opinions on a piece that’s been in my family since the 70s.
It's a 1kg (32.150 oz) Engelhard poured bar, serial number 153976. From what I've gathered on AllEngelhard, this looks like a Tier 1 scarcity variety.
The most interesting part for me is that it still has its original yellow Guardian Trust Company envelope (Montreal/Toronto/Vancouver).
I'm trying to understand the 'collector' premium for such a bar here in Europe compared to the North American market. Does the provenance (envelope) add significant value for European stackers, or is this primarily a 'must-have' for Canadian specialists?
I'd appreciate any thoughts on a fair valuation in today's market.
Thanks!
