Who can resist PIRATE MONEY!!!?? Well I couldn't I suppose which is why I bought it...off a drunken swab down in the port district bars...just before he walked the plank

And he told me the details - 1863 Mexico, 8 Reales of .9 silver which yields 24.12 ASW which was pretty lucid of him given his drunken state....

So.. that would be a spot value of approx. $15 bucks which is were we will start the auction. Finishes at 7pm Thursday evening, no anti snipe rules, $2 bucks snail mail postage unless you want to pay extra for something else.

Cheers GF

In Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End the Pirate Lords must meet together by presenting the "Nine Pieces of Eight", since these Pieces were used to seal the goddess Calypso in her human form by the first Brethren Court.....just sayin...

FYI....some dude went to a lot of trouble working this out....for me to cut and paste for you..

1 doubloon (doblón) = 2 pieces of eight
8 Reales (meaning “royal”)= 1 piece of eight

Holland:
1 Guilder (Gulden in Dutch, Florin in French) = 1 piece of eight

In Robert Louis Stevenson‘s Treasure Island, Long John Silver’s parrot, Captain Flint would say
“with great rapidity, Pieces of eight! Pieces of eight! Pieces of eight! till you wondered that it was not out of breath, or till John threw his handkerchief over the cage. ” as the novel tells us.

Hoist the main sail..... ends tonight!
