Nah, I'd estimate around 1% of 1%, very tiny population, if this ever grew seriously, the price would be much, much higher, not to mention in the 60's, just gold represented approx 5% of global financial assets, by 1980, gold's share was down to 2.74%....from memory, there is now much less than 1% of global financial assets in precious metals... again if that grew to what I would have thought would be a more reasonable number say 2-3%?) the price I believe would be much much higher. Another fun fact, just roughly while I type... the world population is around 7.9 billion, there is about 244 metric tonnes of gold, above ground and known underground, that equates to around 30 grams per person. So less than 1 ounce each...
But I think it's growing. Despite what ppl say bout cryptos taking away from precious metals, i think its other way around, just not very clear to see in that way at moment.
