It's fine, just a little bit of plastic that doesn't detract from the value of not there.

Be careful, if you open the newer type (black) Certicards, then the text "VOID" will appear around it. Be careful. If I were you, I wouldn't peel anything off.

Normally, this happens (photo I found on the internet):

FT, which colour Certicard did you get? Haven't yet got the new ones so wasn't aware of the 'void' message. Will reimburse you if I maked a boo boo.

Why would PM make a card that says void when you peel of plastic film? it's not a scratchie?

Certicards ship new from the mint with a protective film on the Certicard itself designed to stop it scratching during initial transport. It peels and looks unsightly, and is akin to the protective layer on a new mobile phone screen. After about the first thousand complaints along the lines of "my Certicard is second hand and falling apart, it's a fake, you ripped me off!" etc etc, most dealers now simply rip the covers off and send out the shiny new Certicard without the annoying curly film that generates all of the misdirected complaints.
The complaints stop until someone forgets to rip the film off before dispatch, and suddenly people who have never seen it before start wondering if their Certicard is second hand, falling apart, fake etc.
Nothing to do with opening the Certicard packaging itself.
