Queenslanders to pay more tax?

Seems like the blue team can't find enough bikers oops I mean bickies left in the tin to fund relief for the drought stricken farmers and some still waiting flood victims.

Went to pay my rates today and low and behold, I enquired about a new item on the rate notice,STATE EMERGENCY LEVY GROUP 2, $90 P.A. I was told that this levy was to apply to all ratepayers throughout Qld. A nice little earner from the CAN TAX CAMPBELL...NO MSM REPORT ON THIS SUBJECT THAT I HAVE SEEN YET.

I WONDER if it is going to be a permanent tax for Queenslanders. :mad:

With all due respect, I applaude the blue team for finding a way for QLDers to pay their own way. :D
I was filthy in 2012 when Comrades Gillard and Bligh devised a National flood levy to make everyone pay for those over the boarder that couldn't be bothered insuring themselves.....

Fair cop... when she announced the national levie my heart sank. We may've won the State of Origin, but I knew nothing was going to save Qld'ers from the pasting we were going to get from the rest of the nation over it (and with good reason)

God I hated that b!tc# !!! :mad:

Don't worry Errol... there's plenty more taxes and levies to come yet...

Maybe you should have tried to convince your neighbours to stop voting for Bligh for so long and the state wouldn't be in such a poor state.

I read her lot bestowed 100M on Adelaide Uni, subsequently she's professor and she is still in the news. What the friar tuck is going on?

That meant a life of academia in my uni days and still does despite her blatant absence of any academic claim to title.

It makes me wonder where it will end when they can yank any amount they want from your salary.

Better off running a small business or working as a contractor/consultant.
 
Victoria country rates have an insurance levy to cover the fools who don't know how to build a safe and defensible house in a bush fire prone area.

Should be in the 'Cheeses me off thread' really.

We used to call that an SIW - Self Inflicted Wound.

I think per capita, Queensland is deeper in the excreta than any other state. And it is always the socialists that leave the mess to be cleaned up, State AND Federal.

Ooops. $135 of that $300 increase was a balance brought forward ie we paid the wrong amount last time. :rolleyes: :D

In UK the tax office proposed that all wages go to them and they'd do the tax calculations and send the balance on to you in due course.

Now look what we've got, somehow things have managed to get seriously worse.

perhaps all those labor voters knew something afterall

I don't agree with you on that one OC. Qld is in a far better position than other states...Check the Australian debt Clock . :| Also the QDIC HAS OVER $60 BILLION in investments. With manufacturing jobs drying up in Victoria, THE refugees will be heading North soon. :)

Thats the best legacy that Premier Sir Joh ever left for Qld, the QDIC. A QLD WEALTH FUND. :D
