Quadrum vs Airtite

Need some feedback from the stacker out there.

What are your thought on quadrum capsule vs airtite capsule?

I like the quadrum design as it allow you to keep different size together but just not sure how air tight they are compare to airtite.

Quadrum that I use aren't air tight. Their marketing is saying their plastics prevent oxidization, which seems to work.

I like them because they store easily and also present well (read: collectors pay a slightly higher price when they see quadrum).

Intercept, I guess. I forget all the marketing names.

(Whether air tight matters or not might depend where you live. I have an long running experiment going with fine silver. In country air, it takes about 3 years exposed on a window sill before the first signs of tarnishing.)

Intercept is are a higher price capsule approx $2.50 each but good for storing those you value the most.
I guess if you look at 10 -15 years period. Is less than $0.25 each year.

Any recommendation of getting bulk pricing for those intercept capsule? I usually get from rennicks in NSW.

My experience with the normal quadrum and airtite is that quadrum open up easily if accidentally drop even on carpet (I guess airtite are harder to open in general too). It seems to damage must easier than airtite.

Square vs Round , both doing similar job.
There are different brands; but if the coins comes in OMP then I will leave them in the original holder.

In the end it comes back to space ; spaces that takes so much room, let not try to introduce more types and create headache to yourself.

Airtite are generally from U.S. and can be expensive. ( so many sizes there to stock up )
I do get my Quadrum from my local LCS and they are good supplier. ( same size thru out , but still so many sizes to stock up ) pro/con

I haven't really noticed, but then, quadrum has been more for gold and airtites for silver. I have noticed many times that airtites tarnish evenly around the circumference so they are clearly not air tight.

I don't trust the foam insert, so I don't actually keep my silver in there in the Quadrum.

Milk spot or tarnished generally rapid when oxidation occurred. For instance a cracked capsule for silver coin is bad.

Generally , I always double sealed everything up even they are in Airtite or Quadrum. ( Quadrum for $2 coins, easy to handle. )
