Hi,

Not sure if this was discussed before, did a search and didn't find anything.

What's the reason of Perth Mint stopping the Kooks proof coins and proof sets in 2005 ? The only post 2005 numis I could find are the gilded 1oz coins.

Probably because the sales of kook proofs were quite low after 2000...


I can't see why they can't start them up again though and back fill the missing years like they did to finish off lunar series 1


they have no problem making a proof every time a member of the royal family scratches their ass or for some anniversary of something nobody has ever heard of

Well why not just make a regular proof - why does it need to be a high relief ?

And what about the 1/2oz, 2 oz, 10 oz and kilo proofs ?

Well why they change the carded koala into coloured?
Why did they not make 1/2oz bullion S1 tiger, ox & rat?
Why did they reminted the old kooks?

The answer is.. they can do whatever they want..
