Proof Dragoooons

Yes... it's Austacker.

It's being discussed in another thread, it's more of a test to see how much the market is willing to pay for one.

Hi there, SkyHigh, and welcome!

There were only 1 per customer at the mint, so i doubt there will be many "extras" around... It was quite a struggle to get even the one you were allowed into the shopping cart and thru checkout :)

Cheers Xiki!

I was at the Perth Mint on the 1st and met alot of Stackers. (Yes guys, I was the guy lining up from early in the morning.)

I will just keep an eye out & see what comes!

It's not 1oz.

Silver is silver! I'll take what I can get!

Why would you pay $160/oz though... rather get generic rounds or 50c nearer to spot if Silver is Silver.

Absolutely right. I am collector of coins as well as silver. I have ordered one for my collection. But for bulk silver, I will always look at bullion coins and bars. But in the end, it is still silver and I figure I will end up well on top in the end.

hi skyhigh,
I was the guy who offered to let u infront of me at the mint. Glad u are aboard.
What do you think is a fair price for 1oz proof on the secondary market?
Regards
Garry

One of the German distributers is offering them for 199 Euro. Stock levels are going down, so I assume they are selling.

Hey Gary,

Nice to have met you the other morning. Been lurking for a couple of days but now on board due to better internet connection.

Now regarding a fair price on the secondary market, that's a good question. As we all know, something is worth what somebody is willing to pay for it, and when it comes to dragons, logic tends to go out the window.

As a lot of members have said, there are many people out there with more money than sense and these people always drive the bid price to staggering levels.

I think (and I stress think) you will find people out there who are willing to pay up to $400-500+ at the moment as they want it for their collection, not their silver value. But I can see this becoming the "red back spider" situation very quickly and people will be easily paying a $1000 minimum for these coins in the next month or so as the dust settles and demand grows.

What do you think Gary?

@SkyHigh Hello and welcome! Hope the wait was the worth it :) I was the other person behind Garry in the queue, but he didn't let _me_ go ahead of him ;P

@fishball Thanks for the heads-up. I'll have a look for that thread. And good on ya, Austacker! Next meetup drinks are on you then? ;)

Hey an9ie!

Nice to see you on here!

I'd speak to Garry about the queuing! ;-)

@SkyHigh - fingers crossed we have another redback. I think it will do well, $500 would b awesome. I will hang onto myn.

@STC I thought it was so one of us would get away if they called security! :) Anyway, well done on getting there early yesterday and snagging some proofs. The early bird gets the fancy worm!

Hey all,

Just got off the phone to Downies in Melbourne. They currently have a limited stock of the Perth Mint 1oz silver Proof Dragons available to existing customers. They are limiting it to 2 per customer (no mark ups - yet).

They did have 3 coin sets & kilo coins, but these are now gone.

Too bad I'm not a current customer, I would've picked one up.

You phoned them silver_monk?

I grabbed some couple hours ago. said they had plenty then - I suspect they got quite a few calls though :D
