Price gouged Australia

That's what I'm trying to say.

Ripoff is a perception.

Market price isn't a perception, it's "real".

People have different opinions and perspectives. News at 11.

You and Auspm have different perspectives? WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT RIGHT???

Im in asia atm . The price of alcohol in australia is inflated because of taxes & tarriffs wheras here its not taxed or tariffed to the hilt . Thats not a function of the free market its a function of the tax regime

I know, right?

Blatant hypocracy and laughable bias barely a few posts apart and look at the crap I copped back when I pointed it out back up there? ^^

Reno just sees 'post by Auspm' and regardless of what it says, will argue until blue in the face it's wrong.

Nothing new there.

Thats the market price for dinner in a high end establishment . You better stick to eating mcburgers

I'm in Australia atm. The price of property in Australia is inflated because of bias tax law, cheap credit and wanton, reckless greed to the hilt. That's not a function of the free market, it's a function of the controlled, government sponsored property ponzi.

Auspm, in your short sound bites you are risking mixing up "reckless greed" with "responding naturally to incentives" - incentives that are unnatural as they have been distorted and manipulated by regulations, fraudulent banking laws etc etc.

There is a free market in tax systems too.

You've chosen to pay Asian tax rates on your booze rather than Australian tax rates.

Can everyone just stop posting for a bit, I am out of popcorn and have to nip up to the IGA. Give me about 20 minutes and we're all good.

What? I suppose there's a free market in where-you-were-born as well.

Where you were born is either a blessing, an inconvenience or both depending on who you ask.

The great thing about being from Australia is our passport is a brilliant travel document... As Australians we are not constrained to being born, living, working and dying in the one place.

If you are scared of the effort it takes to move from Australia to somewhere you may enjoy more, spare a thought for those trying to do it with passports that are barely worth the paper they are printed on.

In Thailand and Laos they sell the backpackers 'buckets' - about a litre of strong alcohol. A few blind and dead along the way but they still buy them.

I havent gone blind yet!

In Laos the local whisky is cheaper then the coke/redbull they use to mix in with it....

In Thailand its not quite that bad, and the liquor used is generally Sang Som brand rum, which is perfectly safe and can be purchased cheap basically anywhere.
