To be honest that's why I started this thread - I don't get it either.

I understand why the 91s command a premium as there are only a few remints around in the grand scheme of things, but coins like the 08 & 09 were fully minted not too long ago.
Short of some investor cornering the market I really don't understand the premiums some years command.

Well, if you have offers for $55 then just sell your 60 coins and restack them for $40 :)

Point me in the direction of $40 2008 kooks and I will :)

But then the person who wants to pay $55 would buy it there too, so you'll have to find it yourself and earn your money :D

(It took me one minute to find online, so it is not too hard...)

You'd be surprised! Some people are just lazy. That's how the whole free economy works... someone buys something for cheap, and sells it for dearer. Many reasons - maybe you bought in bulk, and now you sell it one by one. Or you have better connects. Or quite simply you are not too lazy to do a google search! :D

Can someone kindly post or pm me the link to the $40 Kook 08 1oz? Can't find on Google. Ta

Given they are for sale at apmex for under $USD 60 something seems amiss here. Apmex are usually the first to push their prices sky high ahead of ebay prices.

Could you please explain to the forum how you determined this amount. The apmex website shows no inventory for sale of the 2008 . I frequently view the quotes for the 1 oz Kookaburra's and the 2008 has been priced at 144.00 US prior to no stock available. This quote is prior to shipping so if a buyer desires to purchase only one 1 oz 2008 Kookaburra he is looking at the wrong side of 144.00+25.00 shipping =169.00.
Once again I pose the inquiry where did you get the idea of 60.00. I am aware that apmex did or does have some 2008 Kookaburra available that are less then perfect for a substancial mark down, perhaps this is the coin that you are referring to , with all respect!! Remember ebay sales are quite transparent it is simply sale + shipping if there is any. Wheareas apmex you have to hunt down the shipping rates as well as difference in payment if you settle in cash or credit card.

You can lose the attitude in your posts my friend. I looked at apmex about 5 mins before I made the post. If it changed/sold out or whatever at a later time when you check it then so be it.

I honestly cannot understand the difference in premium as they are all minted to 300,000, they have exactly the same number as any other kook thus the premium makes no sense.

may be they are about to reach its peak, brightest at the top price :)

its a one way street, so no way to re-stack them.
may be $56 is the fair price...spot may drop as well... who knows
may be $60 is the fair price??

Simple law of supply and demand. Sold my last 2 --2 oz kooks for $150 each

right, so what is driving demand for 2008?
It was not disproportionate when they were released initially.

Why now?

BB are selling the 10oz 2008 for $580

To me the 08 and 09 are by far the nicest designs of the series so far so don't mind paying a bit more. Though go buying rolls of either at their current prices, few of each is good enough.

Simply put, it is the most popular year out there.
