Previous Year Series 2 Lunar Prices.

Hi All,

If one was to have started stacking only recently and Dragons were the first Lunar purchase and they wanted to pick up the previous years. How much are a roll of each of the series 2 going for these days?

Good idea, I may offload all my other silver in order to pay for the previous years lunar rolls then work out how much I need to finish off so I am current. Depending on how Maggie does with the Lunar group buy this goal may be a very ambitious target.

OR...

Mortgage backed Lunar securities

Lunar default swaps

sub-Lunar loans

QE Lunar 2

collateralized Lunar obligations

All rated BS.....

I agree with Matthew with the exception of tigers. At least in the US, tigers go for nearly $100 a coin. They have skyrocketed in the past 3 weeks.

Just my opinion and I could easily be wrong, but there appears to be some bid rigging going on with the series 2 silver lunar tigers. Buyer/sellers with 1000s of transactions are bidding up some of the tigers and those end up going for $90-105. Other tigers sell in the 60-70s. As the owner of 5 boxes of tigers, I would love to be wrong, but some of the bidding on those tigers doesn't make sense to me. Either way, I think the dragon frenzy is a factor in the premium increases for the other series 2 lunar coins.

Yes, the dragon mania has pushed up the price of tigers recently but the tigers even prior to that were going steadily up.
The tigers are a popular lunar animal in the states as well.

I don't see the prices of tigers dropping much or not dropping at all in the future. As for the dragons, I do see them going down a bit once the coins start to actually enter the market but will still command a huge premium.

Right so to buy Lunars (not dragons) asking price is as follows (apmex as a guide) in $US

2008 Mouse 1oz $48.50
Mouse 2oz $300? only 9,000 mintage

2009 Ox 1oz $64.50
Ox 2oz $180

2010 Tiger 1oz $110 (yes not a typo!)
Tiger 2oz $ NA

2011 Rabbit 1oz $62.50
Rabbit 2oz $126

yes I had the 1oz and 2oz round the wrong way....
