Anyone had any experience with this unit?

Does it really work as advertised?

There has been a few threads on this and I've concidered getting one. From what I understand they do work as described and are worth buying. So far it is the only one of its kind at an affordable price tag, lots of people are waiting to purchase the cheaper copys/alternatives that will undouptably come out a few years down the road.
 
I can't find a cheaper alternative for coins or capsuled items. For larger bars I use an ultrasonic thickness gauge and rare-earth magnet combo.

But I suppose it can't tell how much of it is made of one particular metal... It doesn't show percentage. :/

Nevertheless, it's a great tool, as it's shown.

Not sure but I believe for the lesser purity metal, it would still register the bar but outside the brackets to signal less purity than selected. If bar does NOT show at all, then it is a counterfeit (none or very little PM content).

The company stated that it has a patent pending so it may be possible that copying the technology stays forbidden for quite some years.
And then this: if some do it despite, it have to be manufacturers in countries whoms government tolerates it. China is an example. Are you gonna buy a China produced verifier to check China produced fakes? I don't think I would take the risk, even if it would be fraction of the price. Look at what they did and do with USB sticks. They program the controller chip to silently erase older data once the real capacity would be exceeded. And to erase it in a smarter way than just random or oldest first, a database that counts file access and takes the least.
Hell, they could even "stem" their fakes on their copycat verifier and/or vice versa haha.
So I wouldnt be so sure about that undoubtably.

Yea lol, just imagine: on alibaba.com a 5000 fake morgan dollars order promoted with 50 precious metal verifiers for free. :D

And we could include fake stories.
Would be handy to have all the T&A and Zerohedge / SilverDoctors stuff in a separate place to peek laugh & leave again. :D
 
I ended up getting a Precious Metal Verifier - and highly recommend it.

It is much easier to use than other methods - such as ultrasonic or specific gravity.

It's expensive - but maybe a creative person could make back their investment by renting it out, or charging a nominal fee for people to test items :)
 
Do you know where i can get a precious metals verifier is Australia or is anyone selling one?
