Platinum

Interesting to see the Perth Mint sold 1,500 Platypus coins in one week, that was close to the total minted for all of 2014. Declared mintages for the Platypus are:

2011 - 30,000
2012 - 26,580
2013 - 2,000
2014 - 1,616

Will 2013 and 2014 coins fetch a premium in the future due to low mintages or can the Perth Mint restrike these old dates up to the mintage limit of 30,000 as they did with back issue Kookaburras?

Don't think you need to worry too much about restrikes as the platinum supply is very tight.

"Declared"

That's it...No more will be struck.

See Perth's glossary of terms and mintage policy.

Definition of Declared

Declared Mintage
Is the final production figure for a coin that has been closed-off before its Maximum Mintage is reached; or the final production figure for a Mint-to-Order coin or an Unlimited Mintage coin

Demands not there right now...but it will be after a nice price drop.
