Don't let discouragement wear you down. Remember that we are staring into the face of unprecedented bubbles across nearly all asset classes in a world that has been flooded with cheap money. If it keeps booming then at least we find new opportunities in the growing economy. But if it all comes crashing down, then if you own PMs you are better prepared than the vast majority of the population. These things can go on longer than any one would expect so it can be tough on the emotions.

This is the sort of collectivism that motivates all the deluded central planning that exists.
There is no collective of stackers, but individuals sharing an experience of being screwed by an elite clique of central planners and politicians who are ruling over everyone because of the notion that they need to lead the collective for their own good.(of course it is for "their own good" once they are in the lead)
It is the very idea of ruling bodies operating unopposed, dictating over individual rights in the claimed interests of the "greater good" without restriction, that is the root of this pain.
When people make logical and rational choices for their capital based on the prevailing circumstance, then have the standards by which decisions were made arbitrarily changed to suit the interests and biases of others, there is obviously going to be some frustration and disappointment.
To coddle that disappointment in terms of participating in a collective is the highest insult.
It is the collectivists (left and right) that are the cause, that are responsible and that arrogantly dispel the pain and suffering they cause as benefiting the "greater good". The conceptual framework of the collective is busted and bankrupted across all policy positions; monetary, finance, foreign, policing, military, industrial, education, environmental, etc.
Borrow and spend to oblivion then screw the individual with the consequences is what you can expect from the central planners. There will be no growing economy that honest people can participate in. It is the corrupt serving the corrupt on every policy front, all the way down.
You could always try investing in something that isn't currently depreciating in dollar value
It's all choices trew. It's easy to feel like you've been backed into the corner but if it is honestly getting to you, what can you do to change it? I've always been a cynic, but there's an optimistic outlook in realising that no one is going to fix these problems - the optimism comes from acknowledging that YOU are in control of YOUR life.

How about a big SS event? Instead of buying silver that month, we spend the $'s on the good stuff and have a rollicking good night out on the town.

You saw a "nice message of encouragement" and I saw a complete failure to identify the cause of the pain and worse still, embedded a message of individual helplessness in a sea of central planning controls and reaffirmation and encouragement of a collectivist mentality.

So I'm not saying you are part of some collectivist stacker ideology, I'm saying we all must deal with the challenges of the economic, political and social environment in which we live. We make our own choices, but none of us (I assume) exist in some alternate plane of reality and can just dip our fingers into the world like its a video game.
Now, I do undestand that for some people even this will be taken as an affront, that every statement is taken extremely seriously, and angry indignant words will follow. And this is ok and even expected because, as I have said on multiple occasions, we live in a society of manufactured realities where powerful groups manipulate public perception to forward their agendas.

A $1000 wasted on an I-phone 6 will be worth zip in 5 years time; unlikely with PMs.
