photographing your coins or stack items

Silver Stacker
I just got a new lens (olympus 50mm f2 macro) and I thought I would try it out. Very rough set up, fading natural light at an odd angle (so aperture wide open, only 1/100th, not ideal) and hand held but I'm pretty happy with the results. I thought I would show off some of my sample images and kick off a discussion on coin and related photography. I think a light box would be good and putting the camera on my tripod would help with fine adjustments.

What's your setup and a few if your favorite photos?

I saw one of those and thought it was time to kick off a new one, plus it's not really a Q&A thread so much as a show and tell. The other one you linked has some interesting stuff in it though, thanks for the heads up!

Also, I reported and asked the mods to move the thread. Sorry again.

Thanks for sharing.

Great shots.

it is not easy to get close ups.

I tend to use a tripod to stay steady.

I have a photo box ontop of a table with 2 lamps on the side and one lamp in front with a camera set on a tripod. I havn't really used it to photographs coins yet though, mainly for me ebay selling that I use to fund buying coins. I don't dare show a photo unless you want to see what the bedroom of a single 25 year old working full time and running an Ebay operation on the side looks like O_O
