pewter & scrap metal recyclers

time to move along the pewter collection
have about 20kg pewter mugs, goblets and jugs... mostly malaysian (high purity, lead free)

want to sell them
looking for some info

Do scrap metal recyclers buy pewter?

What buy prices could be expected?

Anyone know of or have experience with decent metal scrappers in Qld (ie Brisbane, GoldCoast) ?

Don't know the price in Australia but over here its approx 3 per kilo but that's from a specialist recycler so will probably be less than that from yer normal scrapy!

I also have about 20Kg of the stuff in Brisbane that I'm also looking at moving on atm. Last time I checked the scrap yards were only paying a very small fraction of the Tin price which is currently around $22 per kilo. Most Pewter is about 97%+ Tin from recollection, would love to know if anyone has had any luck finding a good place to scrap them?

If you want top $ for your scrap ,have a look at SIMS metal
They are the biggest recyclers in OZ & the further you get away from them the less you get for your scrap
BUT
You will need an ABN & set up an account with them
Otherwise they will only buy $50 a week of you
