They are minting them again. I suspect the market will be flooded with these coins over the next few months.
Then they will start on the Ox

OK, if the Ox has already reached its limited, then it looks like we will only get a mouse plague :lol:Mud Gecko said:Aurora et luna said:Matthew 26:14 said:One wonders where the Mint found more of these 1oz Mouse? Unless someone sold a bunch back to them recently.

it will be gone for a while, but it'll come back again, look at 2007 kookahobo-jo said:Say goodbye to those numismatic mouse premiums![]()
the mint is minting them again, it's been done before with 2007 kookaburra.Matthew 26:14 said:I don't believe the Mouse, Ox or Tiger have reached their limit of 300,000 nor do I believe these Mouse coins being sold now are recently minted.
IF the Mint was going to start to remint the Mouse, Ox or Tiger they would have announced it.
These coins they are now selling I would think have been buy-backs made by the Mint, that is, people have sold their coins to the Mint and the Mint is now selling them. ie. no change in the quantity in existence.
As for the 1kg coins, like you'd be going near them! 100,000 1kg Kook, Lunar and Koala 2011's have already been sold - there will be zero numismatic premium on them in years to come.

The Perth Mint is playing the scarcity card. It's a manufactured shortage.Matthew 26:14 said:Where's the info on that? Announcement ?
Mud Gecko said:This is interesting. I just checked out they're "official" mintage for the Series II Lunars and it states on there they were sold out.
