Last time Downies pre inspected the coins and returned to the mint for replacements before sending to their customers. I hope they do the same this time round because I would be upset if mine arrived like that.

Hey Stark, the pictures show a huge box with a tiny looking coin loose inside (no capsule) and a damaged piece of paper that looks a little like a COA but isn't and there's no COA at all visible.
It looks pretty bad. Just another reason I am staying away from the GoO series.

Will those with an immaculate piece of paper gain a premium over those with a damaged or missing one?
Apparently looks like a poorly-designed case, with no thought to the paper placement.
I know it's not always possible, but just one more reason to try to stay away from packaged items.
A simple custom acrylic capsule would have sufficed, IMO.

Thanks for all the comments guys. The coin itself seems ok.
The problem is just that it shouldn't be packaged in such a way that is smashes around loose inside the box during shipping because that has the potential to damage the coin. Its unprofessional from a major mint, especially after the exact same problem was noted with the original Zeus coin and coin dealers like Downies would have alerted them to the issue too. Just a simple bit of temporary padding within the presentation box would have prevented the issue.
Its like the PM didn't even listen to any feedback at all after the first series.

I would prefer a capsule. One reason I heard for not using a capsule is that the high-relief surface would rub against the capsule and damage the coin. However, I'm sure there's more potential for coin damage by have it rattle and bang around inside the box during shipping.Gatito Bandito said:
Maybe one of those gasket things inside a capsule would have stabilised the coin. Then give people the option of removing it and keeping it inside the presentation box if they don't like the capsules with gaskets.

Mine arrived loose too, and WORSE, that piece of paper has much more black marks than yours, and the foam inside the Cardboard box got big TWO 2-inch Tears. I don't understand how could that happen, unless one deliberately tear it. I am asking PM for a new Box.

In the last of the Gods Of Olympus - Hades presentation box Perth Mint included a round specially made spongy black cushion/pillow to stop the coin dislodging from its recess .
These pillows were not in the Zeus and Poseidon boxes that I received so the Perth Mint must have been aware that there was a problem .
I can not see a suitable white pillow in the photos shown .
It is reasonable and fair to question Perth Mints quality control and the recent decline in their standards of the final product delivery .
This packaging concern is a very simple matter to correct .
Just add a suitable padding to prevent dislodgement and movement of the coin while in transit .
Members that are faced with this dilemma should contact the Perth Mint Public Relations and or their Marketing Department and request that the Mint replace the damaged contents .
I have always found that the Mint will respond to complaints and concerns in a positive way .
We are dealing with a very high grade and costly product and the Mint does not wont bad PR and on going complaints .

Personally I'm not a big fun of buying coins without capsules. I think some mints make (bullion) coins without capsules, but that's quite "lame" for me.

Pity about the paper thingy being bent but people these coins are actually scrubbed at PM with a kitchen "scotch bright" scourer lol
Who would even bother to wear cloth gloves handling this coin after sale let alone worry how it moves about in a box during transit? PM employees get away with harsh industrial rubber gloves and thats only for their protection not the coins!
